Renovation of a municipal facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Design plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

As of October 3, 2023, an engineer has been selected. Design has not begun. It is anticipated bidding will commence in 2024 with construction following. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Inquiries and Questions Deadline 2:00 PM, 11/10/2021 The Mecklenburg County Asset and Facility Management Department is requesting the submission of a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from firms to provide professional services for the referenced project. The proposed project involves: 1)Facility evaluations for installing Photovoltaic Panels (PV) at all County facilities. The evaluations will include determining which facilities and surroundings (parking lots, grounds) are suitable for PV installations. Evaluations will include roof structural capacity, integration of generated power into existing electrical systems and other salient factors as required. Evaluations will also include preparation of cost estimates and prioritization of projects for implementation with the objective of completion of all construction by 2035. 2) Professional Services for photovoltaic panel (PV) installations to include Design, Procurement/Bidding and Construction Administration Services, for two facilities, identified in the Facilities Evaluations as top priority candidates for PV installations. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
