SCOPE of WORK Clarifier Information:
There are two primary clarifiers and two secondary clarifiers, all located inside a building at the water plant at 740 E. Mansion St. in Jackson, Michigan. The work includes:
Clarifier Steel: Abrasive blast clean all steel above the high-water level to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard and all steel below the high-water level to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard. Apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system to all steel surfaces. The cathodic protection system is to be removed from each clarifier, and reinstalled by the owner's vendor, coordination and payment is the contractor's responsibility. Perimeter Handrail: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Filter Gallery Handrail: Abrasive blast clean the section that can be removed to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard, relocate to a contained area and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Power tool clean the entire section of railing at the stairs that cannot be removed and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Primary Clarifiers 30 inch pipe interior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard. Apply a two (2) coat epoxy system, apply pit filler as needed. Repair cracks in the walkway floor. Repairs:
1) Replace catwalk (bridge) support beams - primary clarifier east.
2) Replace steel weirs with fiberglass weirs - all clarifiers.
3) Replace pipe U-bolts and hangers - all clarifiers.
4) Replace deteriorated channel sections - primary clarifier west.
5) Lime trough replacement - primary clarifiers.
6) Roof drain removal - primary clarifiers.
7) Replace trough steel - primary clarifiers.
8) Steel replacement contingency - all clarifiers.
9) Pit welding - 30 inch pipe interior. No prebid will be held. Contractor's can direct their questions to Shelly Allard at sallard@cityofjackson.org. Questions are submitted online
