Site work and new construction of a power facility in Independence, Missouri. Working plans call for the construction of a power facility.
The owner has selected a Design Builder. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. The intent of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified proposers to provide new generation facilities for Independence Power & Light ("IPL" or "City") through a design-build agreement at the existing Blue Valley Power Station (BVPS). The Substation A site is located adjacent to the BVPS at 21500 E Truman Road, Independence MO, 64056. It is located in the northwest quadrant of the intersection of East Truman Road and 23rd Street (MO 78 also known as Lake City Buckner Road). The property is bounded on the west side by Powell Road and on the south by Truman Road. The property is located within the City limits and likely zoned industrial. Five IPL 69 k\Z lines, one KCP&L 69 k\Z line, and two IPL 161 k\Z lines enter the property.
