Renovation of a military facility in Albany, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
35:31067 The purpose of this project is to provide upgrades to the Entry Control Facility (ECF) commercial vehicle gate, (Gate 15) off Mock Road, located at Marine Corp Logistics Base (MCLB) Albany in Albany, Georgia. These upgrades will provide the Antiterrorism Force Protection (AT/FP) and Physical Security measures required for current security and terrorist threats. The upgrades shall be designed in accordance with UFC 4-022-01, Security Engineering: Entry Control Facilities/Access Control Points, the Installation Appearance Guide, UFC 4-010- 01, DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency criteria, Marine Corps Physical Security Manual MCO 5530.14A and as applicable. This ECF serves and will continue to serve the Base as secondary gate. No Personally Owned Vehicles (POV) are permitted to use this ECF. The site shall be brought up to full compliance with UFC 4-022-01. Construction will consist of the following (in addition to or in compliance with UFC 4-022-01): utilities to a future overwatch position; duress alarm system; overhead canopy for tandem vehicle processing with security lighting that covers all ingress and egress lanes; elevated access control lane islands with bullnose protection; permanent passive barriers and active vehicle barriers encompassing and enclosing the Approach Zone, Access Control Zone, and Response Zones; appropriate safety scheme; emergency generator in hardened enclosure; all necessary utilities and pavements improvements; and landscaping. The estimated cost of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000; and contains a period of performance of 365 calendar days. The days are figured from date of task order award and includes the initial 15 days required for submission and approval of insurance, bonding and other requirements as set forth in the task order.
