Bids are requested by the Board of Education of Montmorency CCSD #145, Rock Falls, Illinois 61071 for Roof Replacement at Montmorency School. Work is to be carried out in accordance with Bidding Documents prepared by BCA Architects, Ltd., 620 West Lafayette Street, Ottawa, Illinois 61350. Bidder will be required to provide Bid Security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid amount proposed, in the form of a certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Owner, or a Bid Bond.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with all provisions of the acts of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois
related to Wage Rates, Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Alcohol Use, Preference to Illinois Workmen, Fair Employment
Practices Commission, and Equal Employment Opportunity. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a criminal background investigation for all employees involved in the project. The background investigation will consist of two parts, as follows:
Part 1: Completion of a "Uniform Conviction Information Act Name Inquiry" with the Illinois State Police for each employee.
Part 2: Completion of the "Criminal Background Certification" form included in Project Manual (Section 00 43 00) for each employee. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with the Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Act (Public Act 95- 0635). The successful Bidder shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). All Contractor's bonds shall include a provision as will guarantee the faithful performance of such prevailing wage clause as provided by this bid specification or contract. No Illinois O.E. sales tax will be required for this work. Additional information and bidder requirements are included in the Instructions to Bidders and the Bid Documents. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any irregularities in the Bidding, and to award contract in Owner's best interests. The work consists of removal and replacement of approximately 41,850 S.F. of roofing and related gutters/downspouts at Montmorency School located at 9415 Hoover Road, Rock Falls, Illinois 61071.
