Demolition and site work for a residential development in Ashland City, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.

Bids may be either plus or minus. The bid amount includes all three tracts. The bid unit will not be split. Tract # Address Description of Improvement 136 1433 Hwy 49 E, Ashland City, TN 37015 1 story, 1,250sf brick ranch with walk-out basement 137 1435 Hwy 49 E, Ashland City, TN 37015 2,300sf brick split-foyer 140 1443 Hwy 49 E, Ashland City, TN 37015 1,700sf brick split-foyer The total Performance Deposit amount for all three tracts is $42,700.00. The Successful Bidder will be given a Notice to Proceed on November 29, 2021 and will be required to remove the improvements on or before January 28, 2022. The Successful Bidder will be required to post a performance deposit and other documents verifying the coverage of adequate insurance by the close of the 5th working day following notification that such bid is considered acceptable and the "best bid" received. A contract for removal of improvements will be executed at this time. The State of Tennessee does not warrant or guarantee the condition, quality, movability, or amount of salvage materials or any other matters pertaining to the buildings and/or other improvements. This bid unit will consist of structures/houses that may, or may not, first be used by the local fire/police department to practice law enforcement and/or fire drills. Some, or all, structures may be turned over to the demolition contractor as remaining burned debris to be removed. (1) All required Asbestos Removal has been completed. Copies of the reports will be supplied to the successful bidder. (2) Remover is required to submit a 10-day notice of National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants to the Tennessee Division of Air Pollution Control. (3) Any burning by Remover on State of Tennessee property is prohibited and WILL result in loss of performance deposit. (4) After removal is completed, each tract must be leveled, seeded and strawed as applicable. The successful bidder agrees to hold harmless the State of Tennessee and the Tennessee Department of Transportation from any and all claims, sanctions, fines and penalties of any kind from whatever source. The buildings are to be removed to ground level and all debris removed from this tract, including burned material. Basements will be filled to the natural contours of the ground with brick, block, sand, gravel and/or soil. All concrete basement slabs and retaining walls may be left in place to retain the integrity of the slope during demolition. All remaining slabs must be broken up and removed from the tract unless otherwise approved by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. It is understood that failure to comply with the terms and conditions stated herein will constitute a waiver of any right to any payment for any work done on this removal; and a waiver of any right to any part or materials of or from the buildings or other improvements included in this offer. The Performance Deposit is required to ensure completion of the Agreement and will be refunded after removal is completed in accordance with requirements outlined in the preceding paragraphs. Payment of the performance bond is to be made by certified or cashiers check at the time the Agreement for Removal is executed. FAILURE BY THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER TO COMPLETELY REMOVE SAID IMPROVEMENTS TO GROUND LEVEL AND REMOVE ALL DEBRIS RESULTING FROM SAID REMOVAL WITHIN SPECIFIED TIME PERIOD WILL CONSTITUTE FORFEITURE OF THE PERFORMANCE DEPOSIT. NO PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF THE WORK. The Tennessee Department of Transportation hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority/disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award. The successful bidder must comply with the requirements of Public Acts of 2006, Chapter Number 878 of the State of Tennessee addressing the use of illegal immigrants in the performance of any contract to supply goods or services to the State of Tennessee. Bidders must comply with Tennessee State laws governing licensing of Contractors. Bidding is not open to State Employees or their agents. Restrictions apply for employees who received the Voluntary Buyout and contractors employing them. The State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
