Renovation of an educational facility in Lawrence Township, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Remove existing Asphalt Shingle Roofing system and replace with a Standing Seem Metal roofing system, Refurbish existing Cupola, and replace low sloped roofing system. Neither the Owner, nor the Architect will assume any responsibility for Bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the opening of the bids. The Contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Owner. Bid accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a Certified Check, Cashiers Check, or Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent 10% of the bid, made out to Lawrence Township Board of Education as payee or obligee, but not in excess of $20,000. In addition, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, each bid must be accompanied by a certificate from a surety company stating it will provide said bidder with bonds in such sums as required by the statute and the Bidding Documents. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms provided in the manner designated and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. The Bidder shall be classified by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction in one of the following trades: C008 General Construction or C009 General Construction/Alteration or C071 Roofing - Metal Subcontractors named in the Form of Bid Proposal for Structural Steel, Plumbing, Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning, and/or Electric, who perform any work on the Project must be prequalified prior to the submission of bids, pursuant to the State of New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction DPMC. Bidders are required to comply with requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 et seq., "The Law Against Discrimination" and affirmative action, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.AC. 17:27-1 et seq. All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. All bids must be accompanied by a Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act to the Bidder and all subcontractors. Pursuant to P.L. 2009, c.315 and/or N.J.S.A. 52:32-44, all bidders and their subcontractors must provide proof of their New Jersey Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue prior to award. Prospective Bidders are advised that this Project is subject to Prevailing Wage Rates N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.27; Use of Domestic Materials, N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-20, including any amendments and supplements thereto; N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2, disclosing names and addresses for any individual owning 10% or more; N.J.S.A. 52:32-55 et. seq., Disclosure of Investment Activities in Iran; and N.J.S.A. 52:34-15, regarding non-collusion The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law, if it is in the best interest of the Owner, as permitted by law Project Substantial Completion: Work will commence within Ten (10) Calendar Days after receipt of written Notice to Proceed and be substantially completed in accordance with the Contract Documents and Contractors Construction Schedule for substantial completion of the entire project including a Certificate of Occupancy for each building by August 15, 2022. All time limits stated in the Contract are of the essence.
