Laurens County Sidewalk Repair QUESTIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY: 10/27/2021 12:00:00 Award will be posted on 11/17/2021. The State may cancel this solicitation in whole or in part. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is soliciting for a Contractor to perform sidewalk repair services, demolish and install, at four separate locations in Laurens County, SC. The Contractor must clean up and properly dispose of all materials daily at each of the locations listed herein. Contractor shall remove all existing concrete sidewalks on Primary and Secondary Routes located in Laurens County, SC (See Attachment A). Contractor shall dispose the debris in an authorized refused site for construction materials. SCDOT will mark the areas to be removed with white paint. The existing concrete shall be removed in a manner that does not damage the adjacent pavement edge, adjacent concrete or adjacent structures or property. Contractor shall comply with the following sections of the SCDOT 2007 Standard Specification Highway Manual, Section 2024.5 (See Attachment B). Contractor shall repair any asphalt material removed or damaged while conducting the demolishing, and form setting of the new sidewalks. The Contractor shall provide disposal of all materials, and the cost shall be included in the demolishing. Contractor shall replace damaged asphalt with suitable SCDOT approved asphalt material as out lined under Section 401.4.15 and 208, Removal of Existing Asphalt Pavement before Patching in the SCDOT 2007 Standard Specification Highway Manual (See Attachment C). No additional payments will be made for asphalt repair. The Contractor shall remove tree roots under the concrete during the removal of the concrete. The roots are to be removed to a depth of 6" below the bottom of the new concrete. This area must be backfill and compact prior to the placement of the new concrete. This shall be accomplished without any additional cost the agency. INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE Contractor will install 1775.0 square yards of 4" thick concrete sidewalk, 70.0 square yards of 6" thickness drive way sidewalk. Contractor shall use SCDOT approved Class 2500 Portland Cement Concrete Mix from a SCDOT certified concrete manufacturers plant (See Attachment D). Concrete shall be formed, graded, placed, and finished in accordance with the existing width.
