Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: Approximately 2,300 linear feet of 6-inch C900 PVC water line Fire hydrants, valves, various tie-ins to existing water mains and associated fittings and appurtenances The Work is generally described as follows: - Water main construction for the 2019 Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) project; - Major items of work include approximately 2,300 linear feet of 6-inch C900 PVC water line; - Fire hydrants, valves, various tie-ins to existing water mains and associated fittings and appurtenances; and - All other appurtenances necessary to complete the Project. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Jourdanton or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Estimate: $280,000 Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. The City of Jourdanton reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Jourdanton for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. The City of Jourdanton has established a target commencement date for construction activities no later than January 5, 2021. The Work shall be substantially complete within one hundred twenty (120) Calendar Days from the notice to proceed date and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 14.07 of the General Conditions within 30 calendar days after the Substantial Completion date.
