The system consists of several consoles which can be linked together via an Ethernet network. A first console, called the main console, is dedicated to the operation of the lighting from the lighting control booth. A second so-called mobile console, identical to the first, is devoted to the operation of touring shows and can be installed at temporary control tables in the room. The third console, without a monitor, is equipped with a reduced control surface and is essentially used as a backup. Considering the mission of the Grand Théâtre, lighting consoles must meet the highest quality standards on the market. The equipment must be very reliable and well constructed. The lighting consoles must meet the needs of the Grand Théâtre. As the Grand Théâtre receives a wide variety of shows from all over the world, they must be known and recognized by a majority of lighting designers in the performing arts community. The user interface should be designed to allow intuitive and efficient use of control capabilities. An "off line" version of the console operating software must be available and easily accessible free of charge on the manufacturer's site. The supplied lighting control system must be versatile and suitable for the operating requirements of theaters, special events and live performances. The lighting control system will mainly focus on controlling motorized projectors, video servers, LEDs and conventional luminaires, without however being limited to this function and these luminaires.
