A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Clackamas County Facilities Management is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the construction of Three (3) various sized, open-sided covered parking areas within the secure parking area at the Clackamas County Sheriff's Bowman Building located at: 12800 SE 82nd Ave Clackamas, OR 97015. The location of the proposed structure was used as the staging area during the 205 freeway project and is considered a brownfield site with hazardous material approximately 18"-24" below grade. This material is identified by a geotextile membrane. Any excavation beyond this membrane will require coordination with DEQ and material either re-used on site or taken to an approved hazardous material dump site. Additional information about the site is included in appendices. Engineers Estimate: $287,610.00 Contract Dates: COMMENCEMENT DATE: Upon Issuance of Notice to Proceed SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION DATE: October 31, 2022 FINAL COMPLETION DATE: December 31, 2022 The work to be performed under this section shall consist of all common excavation, subgrade preparation, structural fill and backfill placement and compaction, final site grading, and hauling of excess materials to offsite disposal sites. The work will be limited to three distinct areas of an existing secure paved parking lot utilized by the Clackamas County Sheriff's department for vehicle storage where new canopy structures will be constructed. The project side is an existing brownfield site capped by an approximate 24" depth of backfill and AC. The site is monitored annually by the DEQ and will be monitored frequently during the construction phase. The intent of the project is to minimize the horizontal limits and vertical depths of excavation and construct three shallow reinforced concrete foundations entirely within the existing 24" soil and AC cap without disturbing the contaminated soils. The work shall include the following: 1. Saw-cutting, removal and disposal of the existing AC surfacing at the three canopy foundation locations. 2. Excavation of the site to the subgrades necessary to approve the subgrade as suitable for foundation forming. 3. Importation of structural fill beneath the grade beams and slab will only be required where the existing subbase is deemed unacceptable by the engineer. 4. Importation of structural fill will be required for backfill within the narrow strip of excavation outboard of the new foundations to provide compacted base for the AC patch around the perimeter of the new foundations. 5. Removal, stockpiling and disposal of excavated materials not reused as acceptable structural fill. 6. Hauling of excess excavated materials to the disposal sites selected by the Contractor. 7. Disposal of debris. Project has been canceled.
