Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or acceptable Bid Bond, payable to City of La Porte in an amount not less than 5% of the maximum Bid price submitted, must accompany each Bid as guarantee that, if awarded the Contract, the Bidder will within fifteen (15) calendar days of award of Contract enter into a Contract and execute Bonds on the forms provided in the Contract Documents. The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds on the forms furnished with the Bidding Documents, in the amount of 100% of the total Contract price. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, to waive any and all technicalities and to accept any bid or part thereof, which in the opinion of the city council, is most advantageous to the city. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the prices in the bid, the city reserves the right to consider the most advantageous bid thereof or to reject the bid. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of the Bids without the consent of Owner.
