The work to be done under this contract consists, in general, of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, and for doing all work necessary for removing and replacing concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, and drainage improvements as well as other items and details not mentioned above but described in the special provisions or shown on the plans or as designated by the engineer. No pre-bid conference or walk-through will be held for the purpose of reviewing and answering questions regarding this Project. This Project has established a DBE goal of 9%, which includes all certified DBEs at time of Bid. The City of Rancho Cordova's policy goal of the MBE/WBE Programs is to assure that minority business enterprises (MBE) and woman business enterprises (WBE) are given the opportunity to participate in contract and procurement for supplies, construction, equipment and services under any EPA grant or cooperative agreement. Use of MBE/WBE's is recommended as part of this project. Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the City of Rancho Cordova, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the City of Rancho Cordova, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The City of Rancho Cordova reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in their judgment, is the lowest responsive bid of a responsible bidder. Time for completion of the base bid work is 70 working days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed by the City.
