MACA 239273 - Frozen Niagara Cave Trail Mammoth Cave National Park - Edmonson County, KY - The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge regarding the type of interested businesses and their qualifications. The National Park Service (NPS) will use information obtained through this notice to develop an acquisition strategy. a) This acquisition is being conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15 and 36, in conjunction with FAR 6.203/19.502-2. Period of Performance: 09/06/2022 to 08/07/2023 Brief Project Description: This project is a historical and natural resource within the Mammoth Cave National Park (MACA). This project will entail the replacement/upgrade of deteriorated cave trail assets along the Frozen Niagara Route (1,605 lf), the New Entrance Route (600 lf), and the Drapery Room (100 lf) with new sustainable assets. This includes construction of a hardened trail surface, installation of eighteen-inch high lint curb along each side of all trails; replace existing handrails with stainless steel handrails, and the upgrade/reconstruction of eight sets of steps along these routes. The project also includes the hardening of the cave surface at two gathering areas and installing new benches at those locations. Electrical/communication conduits will also be installed under the trail surfaces to facilitate existing and future electrical and communications needs. The construction site is 35 miles from nearest suppliers and lodging facilities.
