A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The project generally consists of roadway improvements along Tunis Avenue between Hampden Court and Lyons Court, Harrison Avenue between Fernwood Avenue and Tremont Avenue, and Prospect Avenue between Bayview Avenue and Wright Street. The project also includes stormwater improvements and the in-kind replacement of the sanitary sewer main and laterals. Sewer main improvements include approximately: 670 LF 8 diameter Polyvinyl chloride sewer pipe, 230 LF 6 Polyvinyl Chloride Sewer Pipe Lateral, and 5 sanitary sewer manholes. Stormwater improvements include 3 Type B inlets, 140 LF 12 RCP, and storm sewer doghouse manhole. Roadway improvements include approximately: 630 CY excavation, 3,700 SY pulverized-in-place, 1,000 TN HMA19M64 base course, 500 TN HMA9.5M64 surface course, 1,950 LF of concrete curb, 700 SY of concrete sidewalk, 105 SY concrete driveway, ADA accessible curb ramps, lighting, traffic striping, and any and all associated work. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or cash of not less than ten percent of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, he will within twenty-one (21) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bonds. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check or cash. A bid bond in the amount of ten percent of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, may be substituted for certified check or cash. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certificate of Experience and Certificate of Equipment. Each bid must also be accompanied by a certificate of Consent of Surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey guaranteeing that if the proposal of the bidder be accepted they will furnish the bond set forth in the Instructions to Bidders and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The City reserves the right to award this contract based on funds available. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of Equal Opportunity Employment (N.J.S.A.10:5-31 et seq.) and Affirmative Action (N.J.A.C. 17:27) and with the disclosure provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.13. The successful bidder shall be required to comply with the provisions of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963, effective January 1, 1964. Bidders shall comply with N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 latest revision, regarding Business Registration with the New Jersey Division of Revenue. During the performance of this Contract, the Contractor agrees to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975, c. 127 (N.J.A.C 17:27), and N.J.S.A 10:5-31 et seq., all requirements of the State of New Jersey Workers Health and Safety Act (N.J.A.C. 12:110 et seq.) as amended and the United States Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)(29 CFR 1910), as amended with regard to worker and jobsite safety. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a surety company bond in the full amount of the contract price indemnifying the City of Pleasantville, New Jersey for all proceedings, suits or actions of any kind of description and conditional for the faithful performance of the work. The City Council of the City of Pleasantville reserves the right to reject any or all bids if in its opinion it is in the best interest of the City to do so. The said Contract Documents and Proposal sheets will not be available to examine due to COVID-19 restrictions.
