As of March 17, 2023, construction is underway and all trades have been awarded. Question and Answer Deadline: November 12, 2021 at 5:00 pm ET Domestic Terminal Interior And Fire Life Safety Enhancements at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (H-J) To replace the existing Domestic Terminal ceilings and wayfinding signage and graphics. The Domestic Terminal, built in 1978, underwent ceiling renovations in 2004. As other parts of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (H-JAIA) undergo enhancements, the Domestic Terminal becomes dated. The Domestic Terminal Interior Enhancement (DTIE) project helps elevate the quality of the Domestic Terminal as the front door and first impression to many travelers. The DTIE scope includes the replacement of ceilings and lighting in the Domestic Terminal including North and South ticketing halls, bag claim areas, and North/ South circulation corridor. The remaining portions of the Domestic Terminal including security checkpoints, crossovers, the Atrium, other connecting corridors, and the lower-level tunnels are excluded from this portion of the scope. Also included in the DTIE scope is fire protection renovation which includes reusing/repositioning existing sprinkler heads and adding new heads as needed. The scope for this package will include all corrective actions that are required per the NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, 2012 Edition, for existing facilities, as currently adopted by the State of Georgia. The Fire Life Safety package is inclusive of the atrium, security checkpoints, lower tunnels and crossover areas. This work will bring the Domestic Terminal to current minimum life safety code compliance. All systems for this project will need to remain operational during construction.
