In general, the project is a three story courthouse annex next to the existing courthouse annex. Interior includes courtrooms, offices, holding cells and support spaces. The structure is steel frame with masonry exterior, steel stud partitions, MEP and security systems, plus other general construction work indicated in the Bidding Documents. The new Brooke County Courthouse is a steel column and beam structure with exterior composite masonry walls on concrete foundations. The building is a three-story structure with a crawl space that lifts it out of the flood plain. The building envelope will be built of brick, CMU, stone, GFRC, glass and other composite materials. There are block rated enclosures, interior CMU walls and standard drywall/stud partitions for interior office construction. There is a secure holding cell area and a mechanical core. All underground utilities must be installed. Site work includes concrete and asphalt paving and finish grading.
