Site work and paving for a civil project in Baltimore, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and bridge / tunnel.

The MDOT SHA hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority/ disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, sexual identity, genetic information or disability in consideration for an award. Minority/ Disadvantaged business enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. The project is for the bridge deck replacement and minor rehabilitation of Bridge No. 1309400 on MD 94 over I-70. Existing structure is a two-span haunch weathering steel girder bridge originally constructed in 1971, with two 140'- 0" +- spans, for a total bridge length of 280'-0" +-. The substructure consists of two full cantilever abutments, and a cap and column pier, all supported on H-Piles. The existing bridge typical section has a clear roadway width of 44'-0"+- that includes; two 12'-0"+- lanes, and two 10'-0" +- shoulders. Maintenance of Traffic for this project will use a temporary traffic signal system to maintain two-way traffic in one 12'-0" lane through the project site on MD 94 over I-70 during both stages of deck replacement. Additional work includes cleaning/painting the structural steel, milling and paving, cross frame repairs, retrofitting section loss areas of the plate girders, removing & replacing the concrete abutment backwall and wing walls, construction of a concrete pier protection wall and wrapping the pier cap with fiber reinforced polymer (FRP). Counties: Howard County Classification: E ($2,500,001 to $5,000,000 ) Funding: Federal F.A.P. Number: AC-STBG-1113(4)E A Pre-Bid Conference will not be held for this contract. Minimum wage rates for each Project, if applicable, have been pre-determined by law and are set forth in the Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids must only be made upon the latest electronic proposal forms (and attachments) that are furnished by the Administration. In accordance with State Finance and Procurement Title 13 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, no bid, performance or payment bonds are required for bids less than $100,000.00. However, bids $100,000.00 and above will not be considered unless a Bid Security is submitted as outlined in the Invitation for Bids. Bid Security shall equal at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. Also, the successful bidder will be required to supply Payment and Performance Bonds for all Contracts in excess of $100,000.00. On Federally assisted projects, the bidders attention is called to the Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications (Executive Order 11246) which is a part of the contract proposal. All of these activities shall be done in accordance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as amended. It is the goal of MDOT SHA that Disadvantaged and/or Minority Business Enterprises participate in all Federal Aid and State contracts, as applicable. Each contract will contain a specific participation goal.
