For Swing Span Bridge Improvements Project For the Swing Span Bridge Improvements Project involving maintenance and repairs at up to six (6) Parish movable bridges including: refurbishment of hydraulic machinery, refurbishment of hydraulic cylinders, pivot bearing lubrication, pier top cleaning, pressure washing, navigation horn and lights replacement, traffic light repair or replacement, traffic gate replacement, and other work in connection therewith at the six bridge locations in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. To qualify to bid, each bidder shall be a properly licensed contractor in accordance with LA R.S. 37:2150-2192 for the classification of: Highway, Street, & Bridge Construction. Contractors desiring to bid should submit evidence that they hold a license of proper classification in full force and effect at the time the bidding documents are requested from the ENGINEER. The Contractor shall show his license number on the bid form and the sealed envelope containing the bid. Bidding Documents shall not be issued later than 24 hours prior to the hour and date set for the opening of Bids. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the ENGINEER. Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to the St. Mary Parish Government in an amount of at least five percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, or a Bid Bond in accordance with LA R.S. 38:2218. This check or Bid Bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will execute the Agreement, should it be awarded to him. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause. In accordance with LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the advertisement for bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
