Renovation of a residential development in Birmingham, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
As of January 20, 2022, the project has been awarded to Crimson Contractors but amount not available. The project consists of the removal and replacement of existing roofing at all buildings in both the Hickory Grove and Red Hollow communities. The buildings will be reroofed with felt, asphalt shingles, and required roofing accessories. Replacement of metal flashings at roof to wall connections is also included in the scope as well as the replacement of any damaged or deteriorated roof sheathing. Project Identification: Roof Renovations at Hickory Grove & Red Hollow Communities. 1. Hickory Grove Project Location: 101 Hickory Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35217. 2. Red Hollow Project Location: 100 Valley Court, Birmingham, AL 35215. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Installation of new Roofing on all buildings at JCHA's Hickory Grove & Red Hollow Housing Communities. The scope of work includes general construction, selective demolition, removal and replacement of new roofing, underlayment moisture barrier and gable vents for a complete project constructed under a single prime contract. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. Licensing required by local municipalities shall be obtained prior to the execution of the construction contract. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Jefferson County Housing Authority in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder in accordance with the rules, regulations, and policies of the Jefferson County Housing Authority and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. Contractors are required to comply with the requirements of Section 3 for new employment, training, and contracting opportunities found in Title 24, CRF 135.
