The owner has selected a Design Builder. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. The City of Bainbridge, Georgia is seeking the services of a qualified engineering and construction firm for the design and construction of the expansion and remodeling of the City Waste Water Treatment Facility located at Cox Avenue, Bainbridge, Georgia 39817. Some existing components at the plant - grit removal, screening, aeration equipment - will be replaced or repaired to extend its useful life. These processes will be used as part of the facility's new treatment train that will include a new biological treatment system, disinfection, and post-aeration. Additional project components include a new sludge dewatering building and chemical feed system. The City will also improve the layout of the facility by modifying the on-site road network and building a new operations building and laboratory. Most of this work will occur on the plant's existing property, with minor acquisition needed west of the site. The upgrades will allow the City to treat 3.0 MGD at this facility, and accommodations will be made to allow for a future upsizing to 5.0 MGD as growth requires. The deadline for project completion is April 30, 2023.
