The Community College District of Jefferson County is soliciting sealed proposals for fiber optic network backbone installation at the Hillsboro campus. All inquiries pertaining to the project shall be directed to: Director of Purchasing, Jefferson College, 1000 Viking Drive, Hillsboro, Missouri 63050, Telephone 636-481-3119, sbell6@jeffco.edu Proposal award will be made on or about January 14, 2022 Jefferson College desires to install fiber optic cabling between the College's Data Center and the identified locations on the Hillsboro campus. This project will consist of the physical layer for two separate networks requiring two separate fiber optic cables to be installed to the identified location. One network will be the production data network. The other shall interconnect the fire alarm systems between the locations on campus. The Data Network shall be single mode OS2 fiber with no less than 24 strands of fiber to each identified location. The Fire Alarm Network shall be 12 strand, OS2 single mode fiber within a red sheath. Terminations for each cable shall be in a separate housing as specified in the "Fiber Specifications" manual. All fibers shall be terminated with LC connections as specified in the "Fiber Specifications" manual. Patch cables are not required for the scope of this project. Runs shall be in underground conduit. Some areas have underground conduit designated for low voltage that is available for this project, however, some areas have none. Contractor must verify if an existing conduit has available space for additional fiber before finalizing pathways. It will be up to the contractor to determine the best path and install all necessary conduit to support the new fiber. This path must be conveyed to Jefferson College for approval and needs to be verified with the college no later than two weeks after the pre-bid meeting and walkthrough.
