Work includes electrical, mechanical and finishes improvements for an approximately 12,500 square foot area. Renovation of production and packaging areas of the existing Emilia facility located on McLelland Road in DeKalb, Mississippi. The Work consists of selective demolition, with alterations and renovations for packaging area, renovating production areas including replacing floor finishes, acoustical ceiling systems, installation of high-speed rolling doors and other miscellaneous items. Replacement of existing electrical service, switchboard,
lighting, power and connections including panels, conductors and raceways for the facility. The award, if made, will be made in the best interest of the county to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of lump sum bid prices in the contract documents.
The work to be done is generally as shown in the plans and technical specifications. The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement all minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. Certified check or bid bond for five (5%) percent of the total bid, made payable to Kemper County, Mississippi, must accompany each proposal. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award.
