Site work for a water / sewer project in Northport, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work for the construction of Water and Sewer Relocation, ALDOT Project No. STPOA-0006(564), Add Lanes and Access Management on SR-6 (US 82)(McFarland Boulevard) from SR-69 to Rice Mine Road, City of Northport, Alabama. Major components of this project include approximately 220 LF of 8" DI water main, 660 LF of 12" DI water main, 300 LF of 12" DI restrained water main (wet ditch crossing), 160 LF of 8" DI gravity sewer main, 160 LF of 10" PVC gravity sewer main, 40 LF of 12" PVC gravity sewer main, 140 LF of 10" DI restrained gravity sewer main, 140 LF of 12" DI restrained gravity sewer main, 160 VLF of manhole installation, 21 VLF of 8" Memphis tee connection riser, 24" steel encasement (bore), with connections to existing active utilities, abandonment of utilities, 70 tons of asphalt paving, and miscellaneous appurtenances. The City of Northport is an equal opportunity employer. All bidders must comply with requirements of the Contractor's Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work on which the proposal is submitted. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. All Contractors preparing Bids for the referenced project shall submit a list of similar projects (successfully completed) in the last two years, having the same scope of work with construction cost similar to or greater than this project. All nonresident contractors preparing bids shall submit with the bid documents evidence of a current Alabama General Contractor's License, evidence (with original seal of the State of Alabama) of proper registration with the Alabama Secretary of State as a foreign corporation, and a Certificate of Good Standing as a Foreign Corporation from the State of Alabama Department of Revenue. Bids submitted by a nonresident contractor without these documents included will be rejected. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the opening thereof. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders prior to awarding the contract. This project is being funded by Federal funds. All bids should be submitted in the contract specifications book as issued by the Engineer. All bidders must comply with the President's Executive Order Number 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. All bidders must comply with title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, and the Contract Workhours Act. The attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder. The Contractor will be responsible for notifying the Alabama Department of Transportation in writing 48 hours in advance of beginning construction. The Contractor must contact Mr. James Milligan, Utility Manager, in the Tuscaloosa office at 205-554- 3246.
