The City of Pittsburgh invites vendors to apply for inclusion on a PreQualified (PQ) List for Tree Planting. Vendors awarded agreements will be added to this PQ List. The term of each awarded PQ List Agreement will begin upon execution and continue through June 30, 2024 with One, Two-Year Option to Renew. The PQ List will close to new applications on May 15, 2024. The scope of work for projects contemplated by the Department of Public Works, City of Pittsburgh, includes the furnishing and installation of trees for restorations and streetscapes at various locations within the limits of the public property and rights-of-way of the City of Pittsburgh, and/or within the confines of parks and playgrounds, maintenance and guarantee of plants, and all related work thereof. "Related work" shall include, but is not limited to: saw-cutting and removal of sidewalk surfaces, removal and replacement of tree grates and/or tree guards, installation of block stone and/or brick surfaces within the tree pit area, removal of existing dead trees that fall within the planting areas, spoil removal, placement of topsoil mixture and soil amendments, tree stakes and all site protection, cleanup and deer fencing and maintenance requirements (i.e. watering, re-mulching, pruning, tightening of guys, removal of guys, weeding and settlement correction, etc.) Expected warranty three-year management cycle for full establishment of Restoration-Sized trees (see Exhibit Approved Restoration-Sized Trees) Vendor is highly encouraged to involve community-based organizations to provide for long-term success.
