Renovation of an educational facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Project consists of two major scopes of work: demolition and replacement of existing rooftop exhaust fans FHE-01 through FHE-17, and modification of existing air handling units AHU-3 through AHU-7, which serve fume hoods, laboratories, and clean rooms within the Earth Science Building. New exhaust fans are owner-supplied, constructed from fibre reinforced plastic (FRP), and include new FRP duct transitions. Project scope includes demolition of existing fans, installation of new fans, provision of new variable frequency drives and controls work for these new fans. Air handling unit scope includes demolition of existing hydronic heating and cooling coils, piping, and valve arrangement, and provision of new changeover heating/cooling hydronic coil arrangement, piping, valving, insulation, and controls. Owner supplied exhaust fans are scheduled for delivery by January 31, 2022 and all construction activities which impact mechanical system operation are to be coordinated with annual lab shutdown.
