As of 12/21/2021 The presentation regarding Dooridge Drive took place in the Finance meeting earlier this evening. It was decided to hold off on the project at this time. The engineers estimate was $1.45 million and all bids received came in over $2 million, which is more than the allowed 10% overage. It was decided to try to bid again in the fall of 2022 with project taking place in 2023. Engineer's Base Bid Estimate = $1,450,000.00 Make checks payable to the City of Twinsburg. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. The sum equal to ten percent (10%) of amount bid, payable to the City of Twinsburg as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than August 14, 2022. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, OPWC project: the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and the Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Summit County and the City of Twinsburg, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, 614.644.2239. The right is reserved by the City of Twinsburg to reject any and all bids. Scope of Work The work included in this project generally includes replacement of existing sanitary sewer, including service connections with new cleanouts, installation of 8" ductile iron water main, line valves, new hydrant assemblies and water service connections, storm sewer replacement and repairs, new asphalt pavement over cement stabilized sub-grade, concrete aprons and sidewalk repairs, including lawn restoration on Dooridge Drive. All proposed work shall meet all City, EPA and CWD requirements and ordinances of which the Contractor must become familiar with. Various improvements shown on plans are approximate only which the contractor shall verify location and elevation before installing. All new/replacement sanitary service/storm connections will have a cleanout installed near the right of way line or as directed. Contractor shall use all available resources in protecting and supporting the existing storm sewer, water line and utility poles at all times, especially during excavation. Stationing and locations shown on the improvement plans are approximate. Most locations and items are called out by station and offset and are subject to adjustment in the field. All requests for information or clarification of all Contract Specifications or Bid Items must be submitted in writing or E-Mail no later than seventy two hours prior to bid opening thereby allowing the City to investigate and properly respond.
