Site work for a mixed-use development in Contrecoeur, Quebec. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; bridge / tunnel; industrial development; and transportation facility.

Construction of a container port terminal extending over 467 hectares with a maximum annual capacity of 1.15 million 20" containers on owner's property in Contrecoeur, located approximately 40 kilometers downstream from Montreal. The project will include the construction of a 675 meter quay with two berths to accommodate vessels from 39,000 to 75,400 deadweight tons. The project would also include the construction of a administrative building and a exploitation building, development of a seven-track rail yard, a container storage and handling area, an intermodal rail yard, support buildings, rail and road accesses, a truck control area and a viaduct on Route 132. TIMELINE: The consortium Constructeurs Terminal de Contrecoeur Grand Projet, consisting of Pomerleau and Aecon, was selected to design and complete the construction of the in-water works for this expansion project. 80% of the compensation work has been completed. Working drawings of this project are being prepared by construction packages. Following the declaration of Canadian Prime Minister Mr Carney that this project is of top priority as its implementation will allow the shipment of liquefied natural gas to Europe, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) has decided to accelerate the implementation of the project. Construction of the first construction package relating to preparatory work and including: - Installation of construction site fencing; - Development of access roads; - Construction of work platforms; - Targeted tree cutting; - Installation of site offices and garage is underway. Start of the main construction work is planned for October 29, 2025. - The owner has issued a request for proposals APM-2025-10027175 /20084106 for construction work supervision and owner's representation that is now followed in the report under CRM ID name Contrecoeur Terminal Expansion Project - Site Supervisor & Owner Engineer. - The new approach recommended by the APM provides that the work on the future terminal will be carried out in hybrid mode: a. In-Water works will be entirely covered by the APM. The APM will act as project manager for this component, which includes the dredging, construction of dock infrastructure, quay walls, return walls and auxiliary works. b. The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) and DP World Canada, composed of DP World and La Caisse, have entered into a joint development agreement for the design of the land works for the future Contrecoeur container terminal.
