As of November 28, 2023, an architect and contractor have been selected and this project is in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin spring of 2024. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: It is the intent of this Scope of Services to obtain proposals from qualified Civil Engineering firms (hereafter Consultant) and their teams of appropriate supporting subconsultants, including but not limited to MEP engineers and architects to provide professional services required to develop and design construction plans for the renovation and modification of an existing site and improvements owned by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners.The purpose of this scope is to describe the scope of work and the responsibilities of the Consultant and the County in connection with the design and preparation of construction documents and associated services required to permit, obtain bids, and construct renovations and modifications at an existing County owned site and improvements located at 402 Simpson Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34744. The selected Consultant will work with County departments to gather necessary data, determine design requirements, prepare construction plans and design documents, work with the County's project manager to prepare estimates and resolve constructability issues, assist with permitting, and perform construction administration throughout the construction process. Refer to Exhibit A for Site plan reflecting the existing building and premises and Exhibit B for Conceptual Summary of Scope. The County intends to modify the existing site with necessary site improvements to complete a loop road, replace utility infrastructure, and support future planned construction on the site. The selected Consultant must have knowledge and experience with the design and construction of correctional facilities used for the purposes of fulltime housing of an inmate population. The facility must remain operational during all phases of the project and Consultant must deliver a design that provides for continuity of existing operations and security during construction process.
