The project will be rebid.** **As of December 18, 2021 the project has not been awarded yet.** The Base Bid work includes the following; LaSalle Northwest Elementary School - Gross Removal of asbestos containing boiler insulation, flue insulation, pipe insulation, boiler door refractory and cementitious boiler pad from the boiler room. Gross removal of asbestos containing pipe insulation and floor tile/mastic from southwest hallway and adjoining classrooms, offices and storage room. The Alternate Bid work includes the following: LaSalle Northwest Elementary School - Gross Removal of asbestos containing floor tile and mastic from the Cafeteria. Bids shall include: 1. Properly completed Proposal Form in duplicate, 2. Not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor pursuant to Illinois Revised Statues, Ch. 489, Sec. 39s-1 et. seq. 3. Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid. Prevailing wage rates have been determined and are on file at the office of the State of Illinois, Department of Labor. All bidders must be an active participant in the respective apprenticeship and training programs approved by and registered with the United States Department of Labor's Apprenticeship and Training for each trade or classification of work as referenced and defined by the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. This provision does not apply to a bidder or any subcontractor that employs a workforce for which the United States Department of Labor has not developed an apprenticeship program. Bidders must be prequalified with the State of Illinois, Department of Public Health and meet the requirements of the latest edition of the Illinois Asbestos Abatement Act and Rules and Regulations. Bidders must be prepared to submit evidence of prequalification with the Department of Public Health and a current audited financial statement to the Office of the Superintendent upon request of the Owner or Specialist. All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of either Section 33 E-3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Certification is located in the Proposal Form, Section 00300, of the Specifications, each equal to 100 percent of the contract price on prescribed forms within 5 days after notice of acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bonds shall be by duly authorized company acceptable to the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted, 1. Phase One of the project shall begin on second shift of April 6, 2022 with teardown completed and all materials off site by the end of the day on April 18, 2022. 2. Phase Two of the project may begin as early as May 30, 2022 (dependent upon the schools schedule). Once work commences the AAC has eight (8) work days to complete Phase Two work. 3. Upon completion of first clean of Phase Two work, set up of Phase Three may begin. AAC shall have ten (10) working days to complete Phase Three work. 4. If the Alternate Bid work at the Northwest Elementary School is accepted that work may begin after the completion of first clean in Phase Four work. AAC shall have eight (8) working days to complete the Alternate Bid work.
