Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Cando, North Dakota. Completed plans call for the construction of a 28,000-square-foot elderly care / assisted living facility; and 48,000-square-foot medical facility.

As of June 23, 2022, bid packages have been released and pricing is underway. Construction on site is anticipated to start third quarter but a definite month has not been confirmed. As of May 25, 2022, the owner has selected M.A. Mortensen as Construct Manager. Construction is anticipated to begin in late summer of 2022. Project consists of a 76,000 square foot critical access hospital and nursing home for TCHA in Cando. The replacement project will consist of a 10 bed acute care hospital, a 30 bed long term care facility, and a five bed basic care facility. Work includes updated to code compliant inpatient and outpatient care spaces, new spaces for the emergency department and diagnostic imaging, as well as updates in areas supporting physical therapy, laboratory, ambulatory surgery, and central sterile. ___________________ From earlier RFQ: Request for Qualifications (RFQ) by CM/GC's for Towner County Medical Center's $36 Million Construction value, USDA financed, replacement, Critical Access Hospital and Nursing Home. The replacement project is to be constructed on a new 8.6-acre site adjacent to the south of the existing Hospital in Cando, ND on US -281. It will include an approximate 48,000 SF newly constructed Critical Access Hospital attached to an approximate 28,000 SF newly constructed Nursing Home. This new healthcare campus will incorporate the existing Congregate Care Center on the existing Hospital site. Demolition of both the existing Hospital and Nursing Home on another site are included in the scope of work and $36 million GMP. The selected CM/GC partner will assist the Architect, Program Manager, and Owner in developing a construction budget within the targeted $36 million GMP for a May 2022 ground break and June 2024 completion.
