Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Fortville, Indiana. Completed plans call for the addition of a 20,115-square-foot educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
Project number- 0646579, 21IN0703 Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or waive any informality or error in bidding for a period of 60 days from bid opening date. A Bid security in the form of AIA Document A310, a certified check, Indiana General Revised Form No. 86, "Contractors Combination Bid Bond and Bond for Construction" or a form from an acceptable surety shall accompany each bid. The bid security shall be in the penal amount of 5% of the total bid price and made payable to the Owner. Should Bidder withdraw his bid within 60 days from bid opening date without written consent of the Owner or fail to execute a satisfactory contract with the Owner, the Owner may declare the bid security forfeited as liquidated damages. Prior to execution of the Contract, Bidder shall furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum. Bonds shall remain in full force and effect for 12 months from date of acceptance of the work. Any questions concerning bidding the project shall be directed to James Gulley, AECOM Hunt, jim.gulley@aecom.com. DEPOSIT will be refunded in full upon return of Construction Documents to Architect/Engineer in good condition within ten (10) days after date of Bid Opening. FORFEIT OF DEPOSIT: When documents are not returned under the conditions specified, none of the deposit will be refunded. Work will be completed by a phased approach process. Commence Work within 48 hours after signing contract or receiving a notice to proceed and completion of work as follows: Substantial Completion: April 8, 2022 Final Completion: May 6, 2022 Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. A Bid may not be modified, withdrawn or canceled by the bidder for Sixty (60) days following the time and date designated for the receipt of Bids. The successful bidder shall, upon acceptance of his bid, be required to procure and pay for a 100% Performance Bond/Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount equal to the contract price, and such bond shall comply with all laws of the State of Indiana governing public contracts let by governmental units. This project includes the following: . Building expansion including a multiple-classroom addition . Revised bus parking and routing . All necessary access drives to County Road N 200 W . Stormwater management, storage and conveyance systems, and required service utilities for proposed site development phases The project consists of the building of Additions and Renovations to Fortville Elementary School, in accordance with plans & specifications prepared by Lancer + Beebe, LLC. 2. Work for the complete construction of this project will be under multiple prime contracts with the Owner. Hunt Construction Group will manage the construction of the project The multiple prime contracts are defined by bid packages, which designate one or more various disciplines of work. These bid packages are being created to maintain job scheduling. Time is of the essence in performing this work. Each Bidder will expedite the manpower, materials and equipment necessary to execute their scope of work. 2. The Bid Packages being considered under this work are listed on the Bid Package Schedule in this Section. 3. Divisions 0 and 1 of the Specifications shall be included in the scope of work of each and every Bid Package. 4. Each contractor should review the scope of work of each Bid Package Contractor (BP). 5. The general scope of each contractor's work is defined in the description of each contract in Section 01 12 00 of this project manual. Each contractor should keep in mind that their work might require coordination with the work of a previous contractor, or with the work of a subsequent contractor. 6. Instances of perceived improper assignment of work, or dispute(s) where work could be claimed by more than one contractor, should be brought to the attention of the Construction Manager prior to bid. Otherwise, it will be expected that the contractors will either subcontract this work, or directly employ members of the appropriate trade to perform that scope of work. In no case, should this result in a slow-down or stoppage of work for any contractor on the project. 7. Should a duplication of any portion of the work occur in the Drawings or the Specifications, as a result of the assignment of work to separate prime contracts and the duplication is not clarified prior to bidding, each BP shall include the work until such time that a modification is made to one or all of the Contract(s). 8. If a contractor is assigned work of a trade he does not normally employ, he shall either subcontract the work to a contractor employing that trade or directly employ members of the appropriate trade to perform that scope of work. This shall in no case result in a slowdown or stoppage of work of any contractor on the project. 9. If the drawings are in conflict within themselves or with the Specifications, the higher quality or greater quantity of equipment and/or materials shall be provided in your Base Bid or Bid Alternate, unless specified in writing.
