November 17, 2021 Vendor Questions Due Questions regarding the requested services shall be submitted in writing to the Purchasing Division by email at purchasing@davenportiowa.com by Wednesday, November 17, 2021 @ 10:00 AM CT. When submitting your questions, include your firm name and contact information and Neighborhood Park Play Features. Answers to questions, if any, will be posted in the form of an addendum on the Citys e-bidding system with the proposal documents, online, by Wednesday, November 24 @ 4:30 PM CT. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals for the City of Davenport, Iowa (hereafter referred to as City), from qualified firms to complete design, provision, and installation of multi-component, modular playground structures at multiple parks throughout the city. Vendors are invited to submit proposals for any or all of the playground locations identified in this RFP. The City reserves the right to award contracts at separate locations to different responsive and responsible vendors. The City of Davenport is looking to install five replacement or enhanced playgrounds at several city parks: Emeis Park (2), Harbor Road Park, Lafayette Park, and Whalen Park. The desired type of equipment varies by location. In general, the City is looking for unique, fun play equipment with engaging features and high play value that will encourage physical activity and enhance motor skill development. 1. Assess needs and design criteria with City's project management team. 2. Provide a consistent project design team through the full length of the design process. 3. Provide surveys, utilities, and other pertinent information. Reconcile any discrepancies between the survey and recorded legal descriptions. 4. Provide schematic drawings, colored elevations, colored perspective, and other suitable material depicting the concepts to be evaluated. 5. Apply value engineering/analysis to alternatives including advice on "constructability" and "contractability" decisions made during each plan review phase. Provide information on the trade-offs between alternatives as to the initial costs, life cycle costs, and construction schedule. 6. Design development and construction document stages of the project. Provide feedback on the budget, schedule, and make recommendations to the City. 7. Ensure the equipment fits within the site for all use zones. The City is open to expanding the sites, if needed, as the budget allows. 8. Arrange for equipment to be delivered on site. Secure equipment if delivered early. The City will not transport equipment if delivered early to a different site. 9. Maintain responsibility for preparation of any addenda during the construction bidding process. 10. Secure the work site during installation. 11. Following installation, a full and thorough audit of newly installed play equipment is required. This will be performed by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI). Vendor(s) will be required to address and resolve any identified deficiencies within five (5) days of notification of the deficiencies by the City.
