The project consists of the following: This project consists of labor and materials for the demolition and construction of playground equipment, poured in place surface, concrete curb and sidewalk, ADA parking spot construction, site grading and restoration. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms contained in the Contract Documents obtainable from the Clerk-Treasurer's Office as stated above. No bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The Town of Schererville reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Town further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsive Bidder, all to the advantage of the Town of Schererville, or to reject all bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Town of Schererville or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. Contractors and Subcontractors are required to pay not less than the current edition of the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rate established by the U. S. Department of Labor and included in the Project Specifications. Information explaining other prevailing wage laws, which apply to this work, are also included in the Project Specifications. The Rorhman Park Improvement Project is being funded in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Lake County Community Development Department. Total available funds for FY 2021 from the Community Development Block Grant Program to the Town of Schererville will be paid to the Contractor through the Lake County Community Development Department. The remaining portion of the project shall be funded with local funds. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and materials necessary to complete project as stipulated in the Contract Documents and as shown on the Contract Drawings.
