Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Lake Cowichan, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, BC Parks West Coast Region requires the services of an experienced and qualified contractor to dismantle an existing group site and construct a new group site in another location within this popular provincial park. The Cowichan River is cutting into the riverbank and threatening the current group site facilities and restricting safe public use of the area. BC Park requires the approved contractor to remove the existing facilities in the current group site and relocate them to a new location. Work will require removal and disposal of all concrete pads, tent pads, signage and toilet facilities to a new location identified within the park and disassemble a log picnic shelter and deliver to another location outside of the park (reassembly not required). The existing group site parking will be repurposed into RV and overflow camping. The new group site will be located between the day use parking lot and the campground. Work will require stripping surface materials and building a road base and RV parking area, installing the pit toilets and garbage bins, tables, and fire ring from the old site. Supplying and installing split rail fence, tent pads, vehicle gate and constructing a trail from the new group site to the campground. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
