The Government of Alberta approved provincial funding for construction services for the replacement of the Boyer River Truss Bridge (BF 76163) over Highway 88 and the Wabasca River Truss Bridge (BF 77766) over Highway 88. The project will include, but is not limited to the following scope of work: .1 New bridge construction of BF 76163 carrying Highway 88 over the Boyer River. .2 Removal, salvage and transportation of existing bridge structure BF 76163 up to 300 km from current location. Does not include installation/erection at new location. .3 New bridge construction of BF 77766 carrying Highway 88 over the Wabasca River. .4 Removal, salvage and transportation of existing bridge structure BF 77766 up to 300 km from current location. Does not include installation/erection at new location. .5 Completion of Grading, Granular Base Course and Asphalt Pavement (ACP) for the realignment of Highway 88 over the Boyer and Wabasca Rivers, including: .1 Geotechnical works including benching, sub-excavation, wick drains, and geofabric reinforcement .2 Barriers including strong post W-Beam, Thrie beam transitions, any required crash attenuators and removal of existing barriers. .3 Relocation of existing and installation of new roadside signage, delinators, and establishment of revised line and traffic control markings. .6 Safe and effective traffic management. .7 Utility coordination and relocations. .8 Environmental care and precautions while working instream. .2 The project delivery method will be Design-Bid-Build (DBB). .3 Additional project information can be found in Appendices. .4 Complete design drawings and technical specifications, which will be included in the Tender, are being developed by the design consultant retained by Alberta Transportation. .5 The Contractor will construct the project in accordance with the technical requirements of the Tender and must comply with all applicable national, provincial and municipal laws, codes, standards, regulations and by-laws.
