Renovation of a municipal facility in Gardner, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The project consists of the installation of a new service entrance rated distribution equipment, new retrofit panelboard interiors, modifications to the existing fire alarm system including a new fire alarm control panel, new devices, new egress lighting and exit signs and the removal of the existing panelboard interiors and existing central DC lighting system at the Gardner District Court in Gardner, MA. 1. Install new egress lighting and exit signs 2. Remove existing DC lighting system 3. Modify existing fire alarm system including the installation of new devices and equipment. 4. Remove and replace panelboard interiors 5. Remove and replace service entrance switchboard 6. Provide startup, testing, commissioning of all systems installed. 7. Provide owner training. The project work consists of a the installation of a new service entrance rated distribution equipment, new retrofit panelboard interiors, modifications to the existing fire alarm system including a new Fire Alarm control Panel, new devices, new egress lighting and exit signs, the removal of the existing service entrance distribution equipment, existing panelboard interiors, and an existing central DC lighting system. The project shall be constructed so as to meet all requirements of the Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the plans and specifications for Massachusetts State Project TRC 2156 FT1 Electrical System Upgrades at the Gardner District Courthouse. B. General Project Information: Removal of the service entrance distribution equipment, existing panelboard interiors, and an existing central DC lighting system. Installation of a new service entrance rated distribution equipment, new retrofit panelboard interiors, modification to the existing fire alarm system including a new Fire Alarm Control Panel, new devices, new egress lighting and exit signs. Startup, testing, commissioning and training shall be provide for all new systems and equipment. A preconstruction Hazardous Building Material Assessment (HBMA) has been performed. Asbestos has been found in various floor tile and mastic. Architectural finishes scope of work includes but is not limited to the removal and reinstallation of various floor tile and carpet tiles, ceiling assemblies including suspended acoustical panel and concealed spline tile. Also included is the cutting and patching of gypsum board for wall and ceiling assemblies. All cutting and patching of finishes, or removal and reinstallation of floor carpet and tile, ceiling assemblies affecting existing wall finishes, shall be prepared and finished to receive new paint to match existing. Miscellaneous wood trim disrupted during the work shall be repaired or replaced to match existing and painted. Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The work is estimated to cost $749,000 MBE/WBE) participation goals for this are 4.2% MBE and 8.8% WBE. The applicable minority workforce utilization percentage is 15.3 %. The applicable women workforce utilization percentage is 6.9 %.
