The Existing Fairbank Community Center will remain occupied and operational during the renovation of the 11,384 gsf Atkinson Pool Building and 40,400 gsf addition, which together will become the new Fairbank Community Center. The existing structure, except for the Pool Building, will be demolished upon completion and occupancy of the new Center. The new Fairbank Community Center will continue to serve as an Emergency shelter and house Sudbury Public Schools Administrative Offices, Parks and Recreation Department and the Council on Aging. This project includes site work. Only Prequalified Biddders can submit bids for this project in the following categories of work: Masonry ; Miscellaneous & Ornamental Iron; Waterproofing, Dampproofing & Caulking; Roofing & Flashing; Glass & Glazing; Tile; Acoustical Tile; Resilient Floors; Painting ; Fire Protection; Plumbing; HVAC; Electrical. NON-Prequalified Biddders can submit bids for this project in the following categories of work: Elevators Owners Project Manager is Compass Project Management, Inc. and the Project Designer is Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype, Inc. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF Elevators - Only prequalified General and Trade firms will be permitted to submit bids for the category of work in which they were prequalified. As of July 2022, a general contractor has been awarded, and construction started this month, July 2022. Project is scheduled to be completed in December 2023.
