Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Pre-Construction and Construction services for new Parks and Recreation Maintenance Facility 1. Phase I - Pre-Construction Services. CMc shall consult with the City and the Architect throughout Phase I of the Project to the point of developing a Guaranteed Maximum Price and Contract Time. Detailed scope of pre-construction services to be provided by CMc are included in the Agreement. City desires a comparison during Phase I services of new construction cost versus renovation cost for the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Facility, as described in the Agreement. 2. Phase II - Construction Services. At the option of the City, and after approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price and Contract Time by the Governing Body of the City, CMc shall provide construction services. Detailed scope of construction services to be provided by the CMc for the Project are included in the Agreement. Existing Facility - The proposed site is located at 18570 Johnson Drive in Shawnee, Johnson County, Kansas and is approximately 20.6 acres of grass and tree-covered land with a 30,290 square foot single-story steel and brick structure constructed in 1996 and was previously used as a shop and warehouse. Parking areas are also present at the site. The proposed site is currently unoccupied. The proposed site is immediately adjacent to the Public Works Service Center that serves as the Maintenance facility for Public Works activities. The Public Works Service Center has functionality that may be shared with this facility, including but not limited to gasoline and diesel fueling stations, a car wash, and material storage. The current facility, in addition to other deficiencies, does not meet the Parks Maintenance Division's functional needs, has significant aging and mechanical challenges and does not adequately address office needs, staff training space, restroom facility needs, lacks storage and a fitness area.
