Davison Community Schools will be receiving sealed bids for AsbesDavison Community Schools will be receiving sealed bids for Asbestos Abatement for Summer 2022 Renovations at Davison High School. This project will be completed in June and July 2022, prior to building renovation activities and will include the removal and disposal of asbestos ceilings, asbestos troweled on ceiling plaster, asbestos spray-on fireproofing and asbestos thermal system insulation materials. All bids shall be accompanied by a sworn statement, in accordance with MCL 380.1267, disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner(s) or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education of the School District or the Superintendent of the School District. All bids shall be accompanied by a sworn statement, in accordance with MCL 129.313, certifying that the bidder is not an Iran linked business. The Board of Education shall not accept a bid that does not include sworn and notarized copies of the familial relationship disclosure statement and affidavit of compliance with the Iran Sanction Act. Davison Community Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids either in whole or in part or to waive any informalities or irregularities that may be in the best interest of the School District. The first and only project group for abatement at Davison High School includes the removal of all asbestos lay-in ceiling tiles and associated grid work, all asbestos plaster ceilings, all asbestos drywall ceilings, all asbestos spray-on fireproofing insulation, all asbestos straight pipe insulation with asbestos fittings and all asbestos pipe fitting insulation with fiberglass lines from throughout the project group work area. The project will include, but is not limited to, 1st floor Media Center, Classrooms and Corridor work areas at Davison High School. This project at Davison High School will involve a single negative pressure enclosure to remove the ceiling materials, asbestos spray-on fireproofing materials and asbestos thermal system insulation materials using Class I removal procedures. The project will begin on Saturday, June 18, 2022, and will be complete with all abatement activities and ready for TEM clearance sampling by the end of the day on Monday, July 11, 2022. The project schedule allows for a total of twenty-one (21) work days (Saturday, Monday-Sunday, Monday-Sunday, Wednesday-Sunday, Monday) to complete the project, with additional time allotted for tear down activities.
