The Dept. of Veterans Affairs has a construction requirement to install security fencing around the perimeter of the hospital campus at the Durham VA Medical Center in accordance with drawings and specifications. The NAICS code is 238990 and a Small Business size standard $16.5 Million. This procurement is a 100% set-aside for Service Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). All potential bidders/offerors must attend the site visit if they intend to submit a bid (No exceptions). Site Visit will be conducted on December 9, 2021 @ 1:00 PM at the Durham VA Medical Center. Please arrive early enough to allow plenty of time to find parking. Parking is very limited at the Medical Center. Any vendor interested in submitting a bid on this project MUST attend the site visit (NO exceptions) to ensure every vendor is familiar with the campus with respect to the drawings. Drawing Set 2 will be provided at the site visit as file is too large for attachment with this solicitation. Due to COVID-19 protocol, the Bid Opening will be virtual only on the date specified in the instructions to Bidders. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: Range between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Installation: Contractor shall be required to meet all safety standards such as ICRA, NEC, OSHA, The Joint Commission and NFPA regulations. This project will install a security fence or physical barrier around the perimeter of campus to increase the physical security of the medical center located at 508 Fulton street. Contractor shall perform all work according to attached project drawings and specification. The project shall study and account for all topography, existing security features, campus access patterns, site underground utilities and any impacts to the medical center as a result of the enhanced security design.
