Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Working plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

The project may be re-issued at a later date.** The County of Greenville, South Carolina is seeking proposals from vendors to repair, resurface, and restripe Athletic Courts, located at Gateway Park (115 Henderson Drive, Travelers Rest, SC 29690) and Mt. Pleasant Community Center (710 S. Fairfield Road, Greenville, SC 29605). consists of repairing and resurfacing one (1) Half Basketball Court. A. Remove and dispose of two (2) existing basketball posts, backboards, and rims. B. Remove excess asphalt surface thereby reducing the total court size from 110' x 80' to 94' x 60'. C. Prepare disturbed areas for sod installation flush with new surface and install Tifway 419 Bermuda Sod on areas disturbed. D. After removal of excess asphalt, Install a 1" layer of compacted stone/gravel on each existing court surface, and construct an asphalt overlay in (2) two 1" compacted lifts across the entirety of each court surface. 1. Proposed substitutions must be submitted for consideration, prior to the Questions and Answers Deadline noted on the Schedule. 2. Existing surface to be perforated uniformly to sub-base to allow for drainage. 3. The stone screen layer should be consistent in depth through the court area, level within 1/4 " with use of a 10' straight edge, and rolled and compacted. 4. This includes squaring and leveling the edges and corners of the courts. 5. Final asphalt slope minimum 0.833% - maximum 1.0%. 6. Surface course of asphalt should have a maximum aggregate size of 3/8" and a minimum aggregate size of 1/4 ". E. Re-install two (2) new Basketball Posts, backboards, and rims (to be provided by Greenville County) in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. F. Resurface all courts using the SportMaster ColorPlus Pro System. G. Prepare and paint white lines for one (1) Basketball Court. A. Remove and dispose of one (1) basketball post, backboard, and rim. B. Re-install one (1) new basketball post, backboard, and rim, to be provided by the County. C. Apply a layer of compacted stone/gravel, and pave a 1"-2" layer of asphalt level to existing sidewalk. 1. Thickness of gravel will vary to level surface. Some grinding or milling may be required to apply a stone screen layer and a surface layer to meet existing sidewalk and level the playing surface. 2. Slope minimum 0.833% - maximum 1.0%. 3. Surface course of asphalt should have a maximum aggregate size of 3/8" and a minimum aggregate size of 1/4 ". D. Resurface all courts using the Sport Master Color Plus Pro System. E. The Project includes installation of a Basketball Key, Three Point Line, and Court Games ("Four Square", "Hopscotch, and "Jump the River"); see Attachment F for examples of Court Games. F. Prepare and paint white lines for one (1) Half Basketball Court and various Court Games, upon completion and County acceptance of the surface; see Attachment G for Half Basketball Court Specifications.
