Renovation of an educational facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Removal of existing geothermal system in main mechanical room, along with associated reversing chiller, heat exchanger, and pumps. Well to remain. Installation of new chiller at building exterior. New chiller will require extension of existing sidewalk into parking lot and new fencing installation around chiller and existing electrical equipment to remain. New nat. gas condensing boiler shall be installed in mechanical room to function as new lead boiler. Existing boilers shall remain as backup/lag boilers. Existing pump P-4 power shall be moved onto existing emergency generator. Project will be bid as a single prime contract. Construction will begin after bids have been awarded and "Notice to Proceed" has been sent. Projects shall be completed in one phase, no later than April 29, 2021. The Bidder shall refer to the Instructions to Bidders, bound in the Project Manual, for additional bidding procedures and requirements The proposal must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to Indianapolis Public Schools in an amount no less than five percent (5%) of the base bid, or an acceptable bidder's surety bond made payable to the Indianapolis Public Schools in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, executed by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. The certified check or Bidder's Bond shall be a guarantee that said bidder will, if the Contract is awarded to him, execute within ten (10) days from the acceptance of his proposal, a contract for the work bid upon, and furnish acceptable surety bonds as set forth in the Specifications. However, if the Contractor has not executed the Contract within the ten (10) day period, or has failed to furnish acceptable surety bonds as indicated, the Owner reserves the right to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and the bid security will be forfeited. Bid Forms shall be properly and completely submitted on Contractor's Bid for Public Bidding Form No. 96 (latest revision) as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts for the State of Indiana, in addition to the Bid Form included in these Specifications. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Indianapolis Public Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities deemed to be for the best interest of the School.
