Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Cape May, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

As of February 1, 2022. The project has been awarded with the amount of $9,225,451.14. Garden State Parkway Contract No. P100.561 Bridge Repairs and Resurfacing, Milepost 0 to 126 (2022) Proposals are invited for Contract No. P100.561, which involves replacing deteriorated concrete bridge deck slabs; repairing deck spalls; repairing and reconstructing deck joints; reconstructing headers; removing asphalt surfacing; placing new membrane waterproofing; resurfacing approach roadways and bridge decks; pavement striping; substructure repairs; structural steel repairs; bearing replacements; emergency and routine bridge repairs under cost plus compensation; other incidental work on various structures; and all other work required in the successful prosecution of the work along the Garden State Parkway from Milepost 0 to 126 in Cape May, Atlantic, Burlington, Ocean, Monmouth, and Middlesex Counties, New Jersey. This work shall include the necessary traffic control, utility coordination, local agency coordination, and all other work required in the successful prosecution of the work. The principal items of work include: Hot Mix Asphalt (Surface Course) 1,700 Tons Shoulder Reconstruction 9,700 Square Yards Removal of Existing Bridge/Approach Surfacing (Asphalt) 3,675 Square Yards Pavement Removal, Variable Depth 2,800 Square Yards Membrane Waterproofing 6,000 Square Yards Reinforcement Steel, Epoxy Coated 61,400 Pounds Concrete Deck Replacement 775 Square Yards Spall Repairs (All Types) 9,032 Square Feet Joint Reconstruction/Replacement (All Types) 1,382 Linear Feet Substructure Waterproofing (All Types) 120 Square Feet Treated Timber Structures 8 MFBM Furnishing, Installation and Removal of Temporary Shielding 4,250 Square Feet Structural Steel Repairs (All Types) 214 Each Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Various Units Bidders must be prequalified under Contract Classification 5, Bridge Structures, Rating $10,000,000.00 Maximum prior to the receipt of bids. The Contractor agrees to make a good faith effort to award at least 25% of this Contract to Subcontractors registered by the Division as an SBE firm. Subcontracting goals do not apply if the prime Contractor is a registered SBE firm. In accordance with the New Jersey Set-Aside Act for Disabled Veterans' Businesses, N.J.S.A. 52:32-31.1 et seq. (P.L. 2015, c. 116), it is the policy of the Authority that Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses ("DVOBs"), as determined and defined by the State of New Jersey, Department of the Treasury, Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services in N.J.A.C. 17:14-1.1 et seq., have the opportunity to compete for and participate in the performance of contracts and subcontracts for construction services. The Authority further requires that its Contractors shall agree to take all necessary and responsible steps, in accordance with the aforementioned regulations, to ensure that DVOBs have these opportunities. The Contractor is encouraged to obtain a complete copy of the applicable regulations (N.J.A.C. 17:14) prior to submitting bids to the Authority. The Contractor shall complete replacement of timber decking and asphalt path work at Bridge No. 96.5N&S resurfacing by May 20, 2022. The Contractor shall not begin work at Bridge No. 118.5A until September 6, 2022. The Contractor shall not begin work at Bridge No. 118.5NO until September 23, 2022. The Contractor shall be prepared to perform work on emergency repair items from April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023.
