Site work for a road / highway in Athens, Tennessee. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway.

Questions and requests for clarification or additional information should be directed by telephone or e-mail to the following City contacts: James A. Gallup Purchasing Agent (423) 462-1036 Purchasing@AthensTN.Gov.Kevin L. Helms Project Manager (423) 744-2700 option 1 KHelms@AthensTN.Gov The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids regarding the quote, to waive irregularities in any proposal, and to make an award in any manner, consistent with law, deemed in the best interest of the City. The city intends to purchase approximately twelve wayfinding signs for placement throughout the community. While structural components are intended to be consistent in design, each sign will feature different wording. It is anticipated that at least two different sign designs will be needed based upon the number of attractions on each sign and the speed limit in the area where the sign is intended to be erected. An attachment is included in this packet which shows all the signs that are needed and the estimated speed limit for where the sign will be placed, as well as the anticipated text size for each sign. All materials should be of commercial grade materials which have been successfully used in similar applications. The final design concept will determine the total number of signs needed. Additionally, the final design and structural strength of materials will be the determining factor regarding structure size and supports. For post signs, lettering is anticipated to be all capitals with an estimated height of 6 inches. For one or two signs, lettering is to be all capitals with an estimated height of 4 inches. Posts will be breakaway and feature any needed support and attachment structures for signs, decorative finial, and base. In addition to attraction locations, the city logo and "The Friendly City" will be featured on each sign. "The Friendly City" shall be in all caps with Palatino Linotype. The lettering size should be maximized to fit the width of the sign design without causing an increase in the overall size of the sign. It is preferable that the design allow for the ability to add additional locations in the future, while balancing the cost to do so with the aesthetics of the sign.
