Renovation of a library in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
Site Directions: Director of Engineering Department of Public Works 625 - 52nd Street, Room 305 Kenosha, Wisconsin 53140 The project will consist of removing and reinstalling existing window frame and louver, removing and replacing existing AC equipment from mechanical room, opening mechanical room walls as required to tie-in AC equipment, patch abandoned wall penetrations as identified. Pre-Qualification: Yes Pre-Bid Meeting Info: None This statement is given only for the purpose of familiarizing prospective Bidders with the Project and is not intended to give Bidders a complete description of all the Work or materials. It is intended only as an aid for understanding the scope of the Project. All dimensions and existing conditions are to be verified by the Bidder. i. Remove existing window frame and louver and reserve for reuse as indicated on drawings. ii. Remove existing AC equipment from mechanical room and install new AC equipment using the window opening as indicated on drawings. iii. Open mechanical room walls as required to tie AC equipment discharge into internal downspouts. iv. Reinstall window frame and louver v. Patch abandoned wall penetrations as indicated on drawings. vi. Coordinate all work with the Architect. vii. Perform all Work in accordance with all Federal, State and Local ordinances. viii. Furnish and install all contingent work as necessary and required to fully complete the Project per the intent of this Project Manual. b. Provide all labor, materials, services and incidentals necessary to perform the following work for Kenosha Gilbert Simmons Library: i. Remove for the owner, recycle to the greatest extent possible, or dispose of all materials slated for demolition as required and specified. ii. Remove existing materials and finishes only to the extent required and specified herein. iii. Install new materials and systems as required and specified herein. iv. Protect the existing exterior and interior finishes, and indoor environment during all phases of construction. v. Protect existing HVAC equipment from dust and contamination during construction by either MERV-8 filtration or capping and deactivating affected return air intakes. vi. Provide dust barriers with full height enclosures under negative air pressure to exhaust. vii. The contractor will maintain a clean worksite and workers will make every reasonable accommodation to not interfere with normal library operations or patrons. No smoking is allowed on premises. No music, coarse language or extraneous noise will be permitted. Disruptive activities should be arranged in advance with the library staff. Work hours are 7:00AM to 7:00PM. Coordinate with Dan Davis - Library Maintenance Superintendent - at the Kenosha Public Library at ddavis@mykpl.info. viii. Work is to proceed smoothly per a schedule provided by the General Contractor at the preconstruction conference and updated weekly to meet the stated completion date. ix. Maintain all life safety systems required by code during construction for all occupied areas. c. Historic Preservation i. All work shall be done within strict accordance for the Secretary of the Interior's standards
