This project consists of all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to complete the work to construct a Stormwater Wetland, including all earthwork, grading, planting/seeding and site restoration and the removal of roadways, including the removal of all necessary utilities/infrastructure along with the site restoration of roadways to be converted into walking trails located in Des Moines, Iowa along Fourmile Creek. The project has a substantial completion date of August 31, 2022. The successful bidder shall be awarded the contract by Polk County Conservation Board at the Polk County Conservation Board Meeting held at 5:30 p.m. on January 12, 2022 at the Polk County Administrative Building located at 111 Court Ave. Des Moines, IA 50309 room 110. Each bidder shall accompany the bid with a bid security as defined in Iowa Code section 26.8. The bid security must be in an amount set forth in the bidding documents and made payable to Polk County Conservation Board. Failure to execute a contract for the proposed work and file an acceptable Performance Bond and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and a certificate of liability insurance within thirty days of the award of the contract will be just and sufficient cause for the rescinding of the award and the forfeiture of the bid security. Sales tax exemption certificates will be issued to the successful bidder and its subcontractors for the purchase of materials and supplies related to this project. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor.
