This project involves the construction of a new traffic signal within South Coventry Township at S.R. 0023 and Coventryville Road in South Coventry Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. All bidders are required to establish proof of competency and responsibility, in accordance with 67 PA Code Chapter 457, Regulations Governing Pre-qualification of Prospective Bidders, and PennDOT Form 408/2020, latest revision, Section 102. Subcontractors must pre-qualify in the same manner, if listed in the proposal or if they subsequently undertake the partial or total construction of one or more items of work. All bidders must be PennDOT pre-qualified contractors (prime or sub) and include personnel who are IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level II certified to perform construction of traffic signals. This project is subject to Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry Prevailing Wages Rates and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Contractor Provisions. The Township reserves the right to waive any informality or to refuse any or all of the bids. The undersigned agrees, if awarded the contract, to complete the work within one-hundred and eighty (180) calendar days, inclusive of the 30-day test period. Each Contractor will furnish a surety bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract for faithful PERFORMANCE; a separate surety bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract for the payment of LABOR AND MATERIALS; and a separate MAINTENANCE bond in an amount equal to 25 percent of the total contract price up to $200,000; plus, ten percent above $200,000.
