Renovation of a municipal facility in Leonardtown, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) is requesting price quotes for the material, service, tools, delivery, and labor required to remove and dispose of existing heat pump, and install new heat pump unit, as specified in the attached. Refer all questions with regard to this RFQ in writing to mburroughs@smcps.org no later than Monday, November 29, 2021 at Noon. Site Location: 23130 Moakley Street Leonardtown, MD 20650 (Department of Accountability and Assessment.) Term: 60 days after receipt of order, not to exceed $49,999 Work Completion: 90 days from the issuance date of the Purchase Order Contractor will remove the existing heat pumps and install one (1) replacement heat pumps. The system currently is 2 ton air handler and a 1.5 ton outdoor unit (ID 1-4) with a 5 kW electric reheat. This system will be replaced with new 2 ton heat pump and 10 kW reheat (base of design Trane XR16 Series). This will include at a minimum: o the outdoor unit shall sit on an equipment pad located on the roof o line set between outside and indoor section will be ran reusing the existing penetrations o install replacement heat pump systems including: o anti-recycle timer o evaporator defrost control o new refrigerant line sets Refrigerant piping shall be pressure tested to 550 psi and evacuated to below 500 microns. The contractor will charge system and check operation. The existing line set can be used if they do not affect the new system, operation, or warranty. If the existing line sets are reused, they will be required to be cleaned and flushed in advance within industry standards. o electrical and condensate drainage to the available access point o 208 Volts, 1 phase o condensate will be tied into the existing o the outside air make up will be reconnected to the existing connection o duct work will be reconnected to the existing 2 o the contractor will provide material and labor for any duct work alterations needed to reconnect the new system to the existing ductwork o other tasks and materials germane to the installation. o Contractor will provide and install local control. (Thermostat hardwired wall thermostat) base of design XR302 Controller. The warranty will include all parts and materials for a one (1) year period beginning at the completion of the installation, and at a minimum a five (5) years compressor replacement warranty. All work will be accomplished over one (1) weekend (Friday after 5 p.m. through Monday at 7 a.m.). Vendor will provide a signed W9 with quote. Vendor will complete the attached Business Relationship Affidavit and submit with their response. Work will be scheduled with SMCPS, Department of Maintenance, at least 10 business days before work begins. No Vendor will be allowed to offer more than one price for each item or service even though the Vendor may feel that they have two or more choices that meet specifications. Vendors must determine for themselves which to offer. If the Vendor should submit more than one price on any item or service, all prices for that item or service will be rejected. Vendor shall ensure that all employees report to the main office in school buildings daily to sign-in and sign-out while work is being performed. STANDARDS OF QUALITY - "OR EQUAL" INTERPRETATION Manufacturer's names, trade names, brand names, model and catalog numbers used in these specifications are for the purpose of describing and establishing general quality levels. Such references are not intended to be restrictive. Bids will be considered for alternative brands that meet or exceed the quality of the specifications listed for any item. It is the bidder's responsibility to submit brand literature and/or samples to demonstrate the equivalency of the product offered. Wherever the specifications indicate a product of a particular manufacturer, model or brand, and in the absence of any statement to the contrary by the Vendor, the bid shall be interpreted as being for the exact manufacturer, model, or brand specified, together with all accessories, qualities, etc., enumerated in the detailed specifications; therefore, the bidder shall furnish the item as specified. In some cases, several items listed may be specified in a similar manner except for type construction, details, etc. SMCPS reserves the right to accept alternative bids for items that, in their opinion, offers the best feature of construction, quality, durability, performance, and economy.
