Saving Project...

Site work for a municipal facility in Alturas, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a municipal facility.

The County of Siskiyou, hereafter referred to as "The County," is located in Northern California and borders Oregon. The County Communications Department is responsible for maintaining the County's communications towers. The County is accepting proposals from qualified licensed electrical company to provide an electrical repair of an underground high voltage cable. The location of the cable is approximately 22 miles south of Tulelake California on Harvey Jones Butte. The County has a 100 amp 240-volt breaker that feeds the step up transformer that then feeds the 2400-volts to a single underground wire about 1 mile up the hill. The step down transformer, located on the power pole, takes 2400-volts and feeds the building with 240-volts. The County was able to determine that the step up and step down transformers are in working order, but the cable has a high voltage short causing the 100 amp 240-volt breaker to trip. The cable length of the concentric neutral cable is approximately 5385 feet and will require cable testing equipment. The intent of the RFP is to encourage responses that clearly communicate the contractor's understanding of the County's requirements and its approach to successfully provide services on time and within budget. 01/13/2022 Deadline to Submit Questions.
